Rebranding and updating the iconic thrift retailer to deliver a more exciting and useful web experience.

In addition to updating the branding with a special 50th Anniversary flavor, we updated the web experience to replicate the feeling of stumbling upon the perfect thrifted item in store. We all know the feeling… swiping through racks of clothes and then BOOM, the perfect pair of vintage jeans appear. Our mission was to mirror that same experience on web… Clicking through the website and then BOOM, a surprise you simply can’t ignore.

Our redesigned experience gives the same sense of excitement and personal connection that customers feel when physically sifting through unique, one-of-a-kind items inside their vintage treasure filled retail stores.

Once we had the architecture sorted it became all about designing layouts that were beautiful and reflected the spirit of the iconic brand with every click. A new wrinkle to explore was making it easier for customers and sellers to interact with the site. Buffalo Exchange has historically been an in person experience but times are changing in the category so ensuring a mobile friendly experience helped match the icon to the moment.
