Junior Graphic Designer

Description of Role

This role could be your first step toward becoming an Addy adorned Art Director, an award winning designer, a global retail merchandiser, or starting your own business. Being a creative at Commune means contributing to the most innovative, unique, supportive and hard working creative environment you’ve ever encountered. No training wheels here….We need someone that is ready to prove their passion and surprise us with creative solutions we’ve yet to imagine. 

This is not your average entry-level role. We don’t need our floor scrubbed or coffee pickup delivered to our desks. We need someone who will actually do the work. You’ll be working on projects right alongside the rest of the senior creative team and will be expected to organize, create design solutions, creative concepts and the occasional brilliant idea. 

You should have an established portfolio that you are excited to  share with us that demonstrates multidisciplinary design problem solving.

Our Expectations are:

Don’t worry. We don’t expect you to have years of Ad agency experience or have all the answers, but we want you to be an Adobe workflow Ninja,, an amazing listener, and come ready to crank out some great collaborative work. And most of all, we want you to be hungry to learn and develop your craft.

Your time with us will likely involve:

Working with the creative team on anything from UX, digital, online ads to printed collateral pieces and beyond.

Getting jobs done on time and with perfection.

Pitching in wherever needed – whether that means helping organize our workflow, or helping mobilize our social media for clients.

Assisting in visual identity design, environment design, point of purchase, point of sale items.

Your knowledge and skills:

You should be a designer and an organizer, a friend to all and a great collaborator. We run a very flat structure at Commune – interns talk to directors and management about ideas daily. You absolutely must be a team player, cooperative and fun to work with. It is crucial that you are organized, able to meet deadlines, a multitasker and all-around awesome. You have to be a visual thinker and a great (or aspiring to be great) designer. Knowledge of the Adobe products essential: Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator are a must. Some user experience design, HTML & CSS knowledge would also be amazing, but is not required.
