Harvey Milk Park
CHALLENGE:
The City of Long Beach wanted to breathe new life into Harvey Milk Park in Downtown Long Beach.
SOLUTION:
The City approached Commune to develop the strategy and branding system for Harvey Milk Park and the first step was listening to the local LGBTQ community to learn everything we could about the history and needs for the park. Once we had a full picture, we created a vision and strategy that expanded upon the existing mission for the space. With the vision was set, Commune developed a flexible identity system to place throughout the park and for use in all corresponding communication.
A PARK WITH A PURPOSE
Harvey Milk Park Plaza belongs to the local community and multiple forms of programming and events take place there. Commune created an easy to extend iconography system to support the wide ranging uses of the space. This served event organizers and participants so they did not have to re-invent new design conventions for each and every event.
